URBAN ECOSYSTEMS IN MADRID

A stucture that replaces trees

These mega self-sufficient structures are called 'trees of air'. Just like trees, they control the surrounding climate trough natural ventilation and they also provide shade and a rich public space. They are in light non-permanent structures that can be dismantled. This set of structures are sitsuated in a very arid eviroment in Madrid, Spain. They consume only what they can produce through photovoltaic solar energy collection systems. The energy is sold to the power network and the provit is in turn reinvested into the maintenance of the structures.
