Tokyo's ocean monolith
This rather interesting structure in the ocean, just to the southeast of Tokyo's Haneda airport, is referred to as 'the tower of wind'. It's not a alien artifact or a secret weapon...its a ventialtion shaft for the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line bridge-tunnel.
The Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line bridge-tunnel or Tokyo Wan Aqua-line, connects the airport and the Kanagawa prefecture with the Chiba prefecture, thereby cutting out central Tokyo’s clogged arteries. With an overall length of 14 km, it includes a 4.4 km bridge and 9.6 km tunnel underneath the bay - which is the world's longest underwater tunnel for cars.
The entire structure took 30 years to complete and was opened to public in 1997.
